As part of the design team for this project, I took part in this civic plaza design for the heart of Coventry, England.

The history of this area as ribbon manufacturing center led to this concept for Council House Square. Long flowing ribbons of steel flip and fly through the landscape piercing grass, stairs, sidewalk and streets. Marching along the length of the site is an alley of existing trees marked by ribbon. May poles of vibrant colors blow in the breeze. These ribbon analogies would create a sense of movement from one end of the site to the other and invite the industrial history into the overall design intent.
